Silver 01 Dale Silver enjoys creating in a variety of media, ranging from watercolor and pastel, to pen and ink.  Her acclaimed and prize-winning works have been exhibited since 1970 in numerous galleries, shows and private collections worldwide, including Disney World Epcot Flower and Garden Festival.  Her pastel, “Miss Julie” was selected for the Degas Pastel Society’s Tenth Biennial National Exhibition in New Orleans.  She offers original pieces, as well as limited edition prints, in a marvelous range of subjects – seascapes, landscapes, wildlife, florals and figures.

Dale’s lifelong love of art began during her childhood in Chicago.  As early as 8 years of age, she accompanied her father (Milton Kahn), a prominent commercial artist, to his downtown Chicago studio.  Here she learned the rudiments of sketching techniques, compositional design and acute observation.  She studied at the American Academy of Art at age ten, pursued studies at the Art Institute of Chicago, then culminated her formal studies with a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1969.  She studied under world-renown painter Santos Zingale and watercolorist Don Anderson.  Dale has taught hundreds of students, both privately and at the collegiate level in Florida, Massachusetts, Wisconsin and Ohio for more than 30 years.  She has not only promoted numerous shows for her students, but also jurored art exhibitions and festivals.  Dale is a member of the Pastel Society of North Florida.  She paints and teaches at Silverdale Studios on the Gulf Coast in Pensacola, Florida where she resides with husband, Frank.  You can see Dale’s work at Blue Morning Gallery.Follow Dale on [email protected]
