Marshall, Cecilia Bolotte

The study of nature has been a lifelong interest of mine. The complexity and nuances found in the patterns and designs of the natural world feeds my curiosity. My art serves as my meditation. I predominantly work in oils on linen, wood or copper panels, both plein air, as well as in the studio. I also design botanicals in pen and ink. I believe I am giving hope, one landscape and one botanical at a time.

Cecilia is originally from New Orleans, La., but now considers the Panhandle home. She has been a public and private art educator for twenty years. Completing her Art Education degree from the University of West Florida. Retiring in 2020 from teaching K-5 art in the public school system in Louisiana.

Cecilia has been perfecting her artistic skills for over fifty years. Her love, exploration and appreciation of nature has been the warp of a very complex weave of interest, styles, as well as media; painting, botanical design, pyrography, enameling, stained-glass, photography, and fiber arts.

Cecilia’s has a you tube presence, that originally began as a communication with students sent home during the covid epidemic. She is heard reading character education books. At present you will find her reading bible passages with her art as illustrations. Your painting may be one of the chosen pieces for such readings!
