The love of color, shapes, texture, patterns, & the challenge of making these come together to create a piece of art that stimulates & excites our imagination- this is my inspiration.
Originally from PA, & after visiting the FL Panhandle for the 1st time 4 years ago, I immediately fell in love with the beauty and the people. So I moved to Santa Rosa County, and haven’t looked back.
I began my artwork creating gel pen & ink mandalas & kaleidescopes. I then went on to create glass/bead-on-glass mosaics. My current focus is paper collage mosaics. I design an image on canvas or plywood. That’s the easy part. Then I select various types of paper based on colors & pattern. I might use pages from coffee table books, gift wrap, sheet music, scrapbook paper, children’s books- anything that catches my eye & makes sense for the image. Next I start cutting. Then I start gluing. My finished work is often comprised of 1000’s of tiny pieces of paper. It’s colorful. It’s eclectic. It’s original. I encourage people to take a closer look- you never know what you might see!
