I create figurative sculpture to explore the questions that define the human experience: identity, memory, suffering, recovery, responsibility, and our connection to one another. Working primarily in bronze, I am drawn to materials that can outlast a lifetime while giving form to experiences that are often invisible or difficult to describe.
My sculptures often begin with personal experience, but they are not intended as autobiography. Personal history is the source of the work—not its subject. Instead, each piece asks a broader question that viewers are invited to answer through their own lives.
I see sculpture as a way of making enduring objects for enduring questions.
