Linda Tynan is an artist who has been painting since she was six years old. Linda grew up in Scottsboro, Alabama where she spent many days horseback riding through corn fields, hiking in the foothills of the Appalachians and swimming in the lakes in the summertime. She studied art in high school at the Sewanee Academy in Sewanee, Tennessee and at college, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Auburn University with a double major in Visual Communications and Painting. Linda worked full-time after college in graphic design and communications for thirty years. After retirement in 2017, Linda began attending workshops and exploring new mediums. She enjoys working with mixed media, primarily recycled glass and resin. “The glass and resin capture the feeling of water, the way the light dances off the glass is different than any other medium I’ve experienced.” She is most interested in creating art that evokes a feeling of being relaxed, peaceful and cheerful. She is inspired by love of family, friends and animals, and the amazing outdoors- especially the ocean. When Linda is not painting, you will find her playing tennis, cycling or enjoying the beautiful beaches on the Gulf.
